When Your Relationship Needs Some Support
By the time many couples consider counselling, they've already spent a lot of energy trying to work things out themselves.
You may have talked about the same issues on repeat, only to end up back in the same place. Arguments aren't getting resolved, frustration and hurt have built up, and you may be feeling exhausted by it all.
Perhaps you've become more like roommates. Work, everyday life or children have taken over, there's less affection or intimacy, and you don't feel as emotionally connected anymore. Or trust has been broken, separation has been talked about, or one of you is questioning whether the relationship can continue.
You probably still love each other and know things could be better — but also know you can't keep going as you are.
If that's where you are, I understand why you're looking for help. I support couples experiencing these challenges every day.
I specialise in relationship and marriage counselling and take a practical, honest and down-to-earth approach. I'm not here to decide who's right or wrong or take sides. My aim is to help both of you feel heard and understood, make sense of what's happening between you and find a better way forward.
When couples start counselling with me, I take the time to understand each of you individually, your experiences and the patterns you've become caught in. From there, my focus is on helping you create positive change as early as possible. Every couple is unique, so I work with you session by session rather than expecting you to commit to a predetermined number of sessions.

Understanding relationships and what helps people create positive change has been a significant part of my life for more than three decades, including my own extensive personal development journey.
I'm in a long-term relationship myself and have also personally experienced marriage, raising three children, couples counselling, relationship breakdown, co-parenting and mediation. My approach comes from both professional training and real-life experience — not simply what I've learnt from a textbook.
A large part of my work is helping couples understand what's really happening underneath their arguments and reactions, including the attachment patterns that can keep couples stuck. It's rarely just about packing the dishwasher or who contributes more to the relationship!
My training includes a Diploma in Relationship Counselling, an intensive two-year counselling program, Gottman Institute relationship training, Emotion Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I also draw heavily on Attachment Theory, which can provide valuable insight into how each partner communicates and responds during stress or conflict.
Getting Quality Support
Seeking relationship or marriage counselling can feel like a big step, but needing support doesn’t mean your relationship is failing. Australian research found that more than 80% of people who experienced marriage counselling would recommend it to others. Counselling can provide a neutral perspective to help you understand each other better, work through challenges and feel more connected again.

Communication
Communication is one of the most common areas couples struggle with. Learning to communicate more effectively can help both partners feel heard and understood, reduce misunderstandings and build greater connection.
Conflict resolution
When issues don't get resolved, couples can become stuck in the same arguments and patterns. Learning healthier ways to manage conflict can reduce frustration, withdrawal and hurt, and help you work through issues together.
Intimacy
When a relationship is struggling, intimacy and affection can easily become affected. Rebuilding emotional and physical connection can help couples feel closer, more valued and more connected as partners.
Rebuilding trust
Trust is fundamental to a healthy relationship and can be damaged in many ways — including hurtful words, repeated conflict, dishonesty or infidelity. Counselling can help you understand what's happened and work towards rebuilding trust and security.
Sessions & Fees
Individual intake sessions — $165 each. Up to 90 minutes.
I begin by meeting with each partner separately. This gives each of you the opportunity to speak openly and honestly about your relationship, without needing to filter what you say because your partner is in the room. It allows me to understand each of you, your background and your experience of the relationship as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
In my experience, starting this way gives couples counselling a much stronger foundation and helps our joint sessions become more focused, productive and effective.
Couples sessions — $175 total per couple. 60 minutes.
Additional individual sessions — $140 per session. 60 minutes (Available when required throughout the counselling process).
